Last week, DHS released a 20-page memo outlining their plan for processing southern border migration in light of the Biden administration’s plan to lift Title 42 restrictions. The administration’s plan is divided into six “border security pillars,” encompassing everything from short-term surges in personnel and resources to the border to a program to deter migration from Latin America, speeding up processing and targeting smugglers. In the memo, the Biden administration outlines tougher enforcement measures, pledging to boost criminal prosecutions and make aggressive use of fast-track deportations.
