Following the Council of the European Union’s decision on September 9 to suspend the visa facilitation agreement between the EU and Russia, on September 10, a new Visa Executive Order came into force.
Under the new Executive Order, Russia will move from group 3 to group 5. Accordingly, all applications for short-term visas submitted by Russian citizens from September 10, 2022 will be processed based on group 5 guidance, and will only qualify for visas in cases of extenuating circumstances, such as the death or terminal illness of a family member living in Denmark.
Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, policies are subject to sudden change and without notice. Erickson Immigration Group will continue to share updates as more news is available.
