Denmark | Improved Work Rights for Recent Grads and Positive Skills List Employees

From July 1, 2022, the Danish government has improved its work rights for recent graduates and Positive Skills list employees.

Recent foreign graduates who have received a job offer and applied for a residence and work permit can begin work in Denmark while immigration authorities process their application if they applied through programs, including:

  • The Positive List for People with a Higher Education
  • The Positive List for Skilled Work
  • The Pay Limit scheme
  • Researchers
  • Special individual qualifications
  • The Fast-Track scheme
  • Drill-rigs, herdsmen, farm managers, and other mobile workplaces

Employers who hired individuals under the Positive List for Skilled Work can now calculate their requirement to train a certain number of employees using two of the last three years instead of the most recent year.
