Czech Republic Opens Registration for Special Long-Term Residence Permit for Ukrainian Nationals

Starting September 8, 2025, Ukrainian nationals currently under temporary protection in the Czech Republic can begin registering for a special long-term residence permit under the Lex Ukraine VII framework.

Key Details:
  • Registration Period: September 8 – December 31, 2025
  • Eligibility: Only individuals who submitted an expression of interest via the Information Portal for Foreigners by April 30, 2025
  • Validity of Interest: Expressions of interest remain valid for one year, even if eligibility was not confirmed at the time
Application Process:

Applicants must schedule a visit with the Ministry of the Interior and present the following:

  • Valid passport
  • Proof of family ties (if applicable)
  • Confirmation of school attendance for minors
  • Payment of administrative fee:
    • CZK 2,500 per adult
    • CZK 1,000 per child under 15
    • Card payment only

Biometric data will be collected during the appointment. A second visit will be required to collect the biometric residence card.

Special Considerations

Applicants registering without a spouse due to divorce proceedings or domestic violence must provide supporting documentation during their appointment.
