China’s borders will reopen without a quarantine requirement from January 8, 2023. This is the first resumption of open borders in China in nearly three years.
Incoming travelers will still need to submit to a PCR test upon arrival.
According to reports, authorities would “optimize” visas for individuals working, studying, and visiting family. Chinese citizens will also be able to apply for passports from January 8.
