China Suspends Short-Term Visa Ban for Japanese and South Korean Nationals

On January 10, the government of China announced it would temporarily suspend issuing short-term visas to Japanese and South Korean nationals. This suspension results from the entry restrictions Japan and South Korea have implemented for Chinese nationals.

Still, media outlets have reported that the Chinese government has since resumed issuing visas for Japanese and South Korean nationals who request to visit China on official or unofficial business that requires immediate attention.

The visa eligibility requirements have not been shared.
