US and Canadian citizens with a 10-year multi-entry visa for China issued before March 28, 2020, can again use their visas.
- Visa holders can apply for a three-year extension at no cost or a new 10-year visa when their current visa expires.
- Entry via this 10-year multi-entry visa was suspended from March 28, 2020, through March 14, 2023.
Processing to obtain a new 10-year visa will follow standard procedures and requirements.
Timing
- Visa holders applying for the same visa category must wait until there are less than six months of validity on the current 10-year multi-entry visa.
- Visa holders seeking an extension may apply after the expiration of their current visa.
