China Further Expands Unilateral Visa Free Entry Policy

Effective November 30, 2024, nationals of Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Japan, Latvia, Malta, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Romania qualify for China’s unilateral visa-free entry program.

Additionally, China has extended the period of stay under the program from 15 days to 30 days, and will now include exchange visits as a valid purpose of stay.  The updated policy will remain in effect until December 31, 2025.

Since December 2023,  unilateral visa-free entry has also been granted to citizens of Australia, Brunei, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Korea; and Austria, Andorra, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland.
