Canada Revokes Permanent Residence Application Exemption for Biometrics Requirement

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada announced that as of June 14, 2023, fresh biometrics are once again required for all Permanent Resident (PR) applicants, even when they have already provided biometrics in a previous application.

The previous (COVID) policy of re-using biometrics provided in Temporary Resident (TR) applications in order to satisfy the biometrics requirement in PR applications has been revoked.
