Brazil Regulates the Registration of Artistic Activities Carried Out by Immigrants in Brazil

MJSP Ordinance No. 885/2025 establishes new guidelines for the registration of employment contracts and contractual notes of foreign artists, musicians, and technicians who will perform at events in Brazil.

Contracts must be registered with the General Coordination of Labor Immigration of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security within the following deadlines:

  • up to 10 days before presentation, in the case of a visit visa
  • at the time of applying for a residence permit, for those who have a temporary visa.

Among the main highlights are:

  • Registration is mandatory for the performance of the contracted artistic activity;
  • After approval, the Certificate of Registration for the Realization of the Artistic Activity will be issued, a document that must be kept at the place of presentation for possible inspections;
  • Failure to comply with the requirements can lead to legal and administrative sanctions.
