Bahrain Allows Temporary Worker Assignments Across Employers

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority has announced the publication of Decision No. 2 of 2026, allowing an employer to employ a foreign worker in another establishment they own, or in one affiliated with the same group, or with another employer, for a period of three months.

The decision stipulates that an employer authorized to employ a foreign worker may employ them in another establishment owned by the employer and registered in the commercial register under a different number, or belonging to the same group, provided that the other establishment exercises an activity that requires the same or a higher percentage of Bahrainization as the activity of the establishment with which the worker is registered. If the percentage is lower, the other employer is obliged to pay an additional fee.
