From July 1, individuals nominated on a short-term occupation for a Subclass 482 or Subclass 457 visa currently employed by an active business in Australia may be eligible to apply for permanent residence.
To be eligible, additional requirements include:
- The employee has been in Australia for at least 12 months between February 1, 2020, and December 14, 2021 (“pandemic period”)
- The employee has worked in the nominated occupation as a Subclass 457 or 482 visa holder for a period of 3 years in the 4 years immediately prior to the Subclass 186 visa – Temporary Residence Transition Stream (TRTS) application.
