On June 28, 2018, USCIS presented its 2018 Annual Report to Congress. The report highlights an increase in processing times for many application categories, attributed to anti-fraud initiatives and a 42% increase in immigration filings since 2012. Additionally, the USCIS Ombudsman received a record number of requests for assistance in the 2017 fiscal year, of which 69% were due to increased processing times. The aforementioned issues are most prevalent in the filing of Forms I-485, N-400, and I-765.
