Moldova Launches Digital Nomad Visa to Attract Global Talent

On September 20, 2025, the Government of Moldova officially launched a new digital nomad visa program, offering foreign nationals the opportunity to live and work remotely in the country for up to two years, with the option to renew. This marks a significant step in Moldova’s efforts to attract global talent and integrate into the digital economy.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Work remotely for a company registered outside Moldova, or
  • Hold ownership or shares in such a company
  • Provide proof of remote employment or business ownership
  • Demonstrate a history of remote income
  • Hold valid health insurance
  • Have secured accommodation in Moldova
Application Process
  • Applications can be submitted online or in person to the Bureau of Migration and Asylum
  • Processing time: 30-45 days
  • Visa fees: EUR 80-100
  • Upon approval, visa holders must register with local migration police
  • Dependents can be sponsored, though higher income thresholds may apply
  • Local employment is not permitted under this visa
