Visa Assistance for Earthquake Victims

Following the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, countries are announcing emergency and facilitated visa options for the victims.

  • The German government announced it will grant three-month visas for victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria who have relatives residing in Germany. Germany is home to nearly 3 million people of Turkish descent and almost 1 million Syrian people.
  • The Swiss authorities will prioritize visa applications filed by earthquake victims, and all victims with a close family relation in Switzerland will be able to obtain visas through less stringent measures.
  • The Belgian authorities will expedite visa processing for Turkish and Syrian nationals affected by the earthquake.
  • The Netherlands has announced it would ease the visa rules for Turkish and Syrian nationals affected by the earthquakes.
