India Lifts e-Visa Restrictions for 156 Countries

India Ministry of Home Affairs: “Vide Office Memorandum 25022/28/2020-F.I dated 30.03.2021, e-Visa under the following categories viz. e-Business Visa, e-Medical Visa, e-Medical Attendant Visa and e-Conference Visa has been restored with immediate effect.”

On Wednesday, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs lifted the restrictions in place for electronic visas (e-visas). The change will enable nationals from 156 countries to access the e-medical visa, e-business visa, e-medical attendant visa, and e-conference visa. The tourism ban is still in place.

In the new order, China and the UK are not included in the group of countries. Travel restrictions will be reviewed again later in April.

In March of 2020, all of these visas were suspended in response to the spreading coronavirus. India is currently facing record-high case counts of the coronavirus.
