International Updates
Brazil | Sao Paolo imposed stricter measures on Monday, including limiting hours of operation and capacity at public gathering places.

Georgia | From Saturday, November 28 to at least January 31, there will be increased restrictions, including a nightly curfew, closed non-essential businesses and recreation centers, and a ban on events. Restrictions will be eased from December 24 – January 3 and January 6-7.

Ireland | The ‘traffic light’ program, which applies to countries in the EU / EEA (+ the UK), asks travelers to restrict movements for 14 days before arriving in Ireland. This request does not apply to travelers from green regions and those arriving from Northern Ireland. Other exceptions apply to International Transport Workers, essential travelers, travelers arriving for imperative family reasons, and returning travelers who traveled for essential functions. From November 29, travelers from orange, red, or grey regions are to restrict their movement for 14 days on arrival. This period of restriction can end following a negative PCR test taken 5 days after arrival.

Italy | From Sunday, the government decreased restrictions in 5 regions. Calabria, Lombardy, and Piedmont shifted from red to orange; Sicily and Liguria went from orange to yellow. Fiumicino Airport (Rome) will offer COVID-tested flights to and from the US by Delta and Alitalia. This will be the first airport to offer this transatlantic service. In December, passengers going between Rome and Atlanta or New York can test for the coronavirus 48-hours in advance and at the airport, avoiding the 14-day quarantine Italy requires.

Russia | Family members of HQS employed in the field of sports, as well as family members of people participating in sporting events, may now enter Russia based on approved lists.

Spain | On Friday, November 27, the government extended the Order INT 657/2020 from July 17 to December 31, 2020.

The Philippines | On Monday, President Rodrigo Duterte said that the current restrictions would remain in place until the year’s end.
